Its housing is made of durable die-cast aluminum with a glass-clear polycarbonate shield and provides maximum performance in rainy, moist and cold (-35 degrees F) conditions and in corrosive and dusty environments. The shield is injection-molded and protects against vandalism as well with tamperproof screws providing security.

Standard features of the 12UEL1 fixtures include a nickel cadmium battery, self-diagnostics, photocell laser test and MR-16 lamps to provide long life, low maintenance and reliability in severe environments.
