New HET Toilets On the Horizon

New HET Toilets On the Horizon For those people who have not yet fully embraced the 1.6 gallon flushing requirement of today’s toilets, this news will really be unsettling. California recently passed legislation requiring that all new construction use High Efficiency Toilets (HET). A HET is a fixture that flushes on 1.28 gpf or less. In addition according to an announcement from the Sloan Valve Company makers of Flushmate™ flush systems, 50% of all toilets sold by 2010 will need to conform and by the year 2014, 100% of sold toilets will need to conform. Flushmate IV 1.0gpf is currently available from many of the major fixture manufacturers. As we all know “first California” and then the rest of the nation.
