What’s a UV Dose?

When we refer to the UV dose applied by a UV disinfection system, we are referring to the amount of germicidal UV energy that is imparted into the water stream being treated.

Each different pathogen in water has its own susceptibility to UV light, for example E.coli and Influenza are two different pathogens and each requires a different UV dose in order to be “killed”.                                                            

Each of the different models of UV systems produced  by  Wycomar  will  provide far  more  UV

dose than is required for a 99.99% kill rate for most common pathogens. In fact, all Wyckomar UV systems come with a guarantee that your water test will indicate –0 for E.coli and coliform (these are the two most common pathogens tested for by public health labs).
