RHEEM, long an industry leader in residential warm air furnace and air conditioning
equipment, announced its entry into the home generator business with the SEREGEN
line of high efficiency generator systems. Permanently installed, the SEREGEN
generators allow homeowners, when power outages happen, to automatically run basic
household essentials (lights, refrigerator, computer) as well as higher wattage
appliances (central air systems, range/stove, well pump). The SEREGEN 100 series offers two sizes of generators. The 12KW unit is approved to power a 4-ton central air system and the 15KW can handle two 4-ton systems. The 100 series offers an A/C Power Control Module (ACCM) that imprints the starting wattage in its control board, monitors power, and “waits” until enough power is available to start the A/C system, assuring A/C usage while providing overload protection. The SEREGEN 200 series offers the same 12 and 15KW models but includes the LCC Power Management System. This system turns off pre-determined loads, freeing up power to start the A/C units and then bring them back up once the A/c is running. The last series, SEREGEN 300, offers a 20KW system with both the ACCM and Power Management systems for large/high wattage homes. All the SEREGEN models run on either LP or natural gas and come supplied with a battery, synthetic oil and installation pad and are “broken in” from the factory for “ready to go” operation. They feature Sound Shield technology that runs the generators at less than 70 decibels – quieter than a household vacuum cleaner. Offer your customers automatic protection (when used in conjunction with a matching transfer switch) from power outages while offering computer-controlled efficiency.
